What's on your desk Wednesday!

Wow!  I over-slept!  And now blogger has changed the way you upload pictures, again.  I think they love reminding me how tech-challenged I am.  The first pic above is an example of little, tiny bottles I have been collecting.  These are in my window, at eye level and right next to my head while I'm working.  One has a magnet glued to it.  I'm making that one a tussie-mussie (or is it tussy-mussy?) to wear at work.  I also made one for my bulletin board.  Totally non-essential crafting, huh?
Otherwise.  Continuing with mother's day cards, I love, love, love K and Company "Blue Awning" papers and other elements.  I know they are a year or two old but, I can't help myself.  They work year round for me.  I also found out that some of the Deja Views "Butcher Block Blue" set (very old) works with them.  Anyway, here's one card made yesterday.
Side note: finally broke down and bought a proper pair of scissors.  Naturally, I had a coupon.

Whew!

I must apologize for not getting around to everyone's WOYWW posts today.  My dear (79 year) old father has paid me a semi-surprise visit all the way from Texas!  As it is with house guests, a certain amount of time and energy must be paid toward their comfort, feeding and entertainment.  My wonderful hubby has no problem with getting by on leftovers when I am caught up in "creative mode".  Considering that it is just the two of us most of the time, its not a problem.  Love having guests and cooking but, not so used to the interruption.  So, please excuse me for "dropping the ball".  I promise to make it up next week.

What's on your desk Wednesday!

Well, I detoured from my "flight pattern" yesterday to make a card from this photo.  I finally found suitable papers for "Daisy" as I call her.  Many of you have commented on all my bins of things in my studio.  Have I mentioned that I work for a florist?  So, when silk flowers and other broken bits, beads, birds, feathers etc.. fall apart or are scrapped I get them.  What you see in the bag are flowers that need to be sorted in to my bins by color.  What you don't see are the 6 or so other bins of fall, Halloween and Christmas scraps.  Its nuts.  I know.

Gingersnap Creations challange Found Objects

This was for my sister's birthday.  I included buttons and lace from our mother's sewing box, flowers that I had pressed, shells from the beach, a silver cross that had been a necklace and a portion of a thesaurus on sweetness.

What's on your desk Wednesday!

What a day!  Had (forced) to go to work.  Then had coupons burning up my pockets so, went shopping.  Got home and the internet was down!  Aarrrgh!  As you can see I'm still on a "things with wings" kick.  The pretty silk green and purple butterflies are a 6' garland that has 14 butterflies on it .  These were for Easter so they were 75% off!!!  I may have to go back and get the other colors.  Apparently one sees butterflies only at Easter.  Lucky me.  I am starting mother's day cards tomorrow.  I think they will be a nice addition.

silly in love

Don't you just love the cards you make that make you laugh the whole time you're working on them?  This is for a friends anniversary.

a little birdie told me...

I've been on a bird/butterfly kick lately.  (So has half the nation, it seems)  These are a few recent ones in the same color schemes.  I have more coming in a more vintage style.

what came of it...

What's on your desk Wednesday!

How fun is this?!!  Just found this "show-n-tell" over at Peggy's Mixed Up Art blog.
I just got a new paper stack from DCWV- "The Linen Closet" and can't wait to see what comes of it!

I have included images of the postcard (front and back) so you can see where this came from.  She evidently was an actress.  Wonder what she meant by making her act "stronger"?  hum...  Once I start looking for images from my postcards I often get caught up in reading the backs and then I lose all track of time.  They are just so darn interesting!  Anyone is welcome to use this image for their work if they would like.  Just don't sell it, please.

Easter cards

Easter cards made from my postcard stash.  I used some vintage beaded trim on some of them.  Also, many of them I outlined in metallic and colored gel ink.  Much like the original images were printed.  I will gladly send, anyone interested, copies of my postcards.  Please email me at kathryn_now@yahoo.com or through this blog.

Easy Thank You cards

So.  I bought a My Minds Eye kit from peachycheap.com  I made Thank You cards from it but, naturally, I had to include my own touches to embellish and take them up just a scoch.  Also, since the cards were double sided, I cut the fronts off and applied them to blank cards hence, doubling my product.
