What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Wwweeee!  It's Wednesday!  This is my desk as of 8:00 pm last night.  I made 18 bookmarks for my friend who is going to her annual Scottie convention today.  It was a surprise for her to take with her.

Embossed Scotties, punched paws, circles and hearts, grommets, ribbons and lots of cutting and assembling.  It took all day and let me tell you, Mr. Murphy of Murphy's Law was hanging out in my studio the whole time!  But, I got them done and I'm pretty happy with them.

I have to work for a few hours today but I'll be around to visit with ya'll later.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for looking!
Hugs!

Blue Monday

I bought a cute (of course) top by Vera Wang which had a lovely blue tag with black embossing attached.   It's actually the initials SV for Simply Vera but, nonetheless, it inspired me to re-purpose it.

I really missed you all last week!!  It was out of my control, aarrrggh!  I have to work today so, I'll be around later to visit.  Have a great day!
Hugs!

For the Fathers

I needed some Father's Day cards - fast!  So, using this sheet from Graphic 45, "A Proper Gentleman" Collection, computer generated sentiments and some coordinating papers...

I absolutely love all the Graphic 45 collections!  On the "Business Shirts" card I used a copy from a little pocket notebook from 1916 that I bought at an antique store.  Things sure were inexpensive then but so was the income.  This fellow watched every penny.  Times have changed.
Thanks for looking and hope everyone has a nice Father's Day.  And, to those whose father has passed, I hope you have fond memories of him today.
hugs!

MIA

MIA.  That was me in the true sense of the phrase!  Between working and the power being out for almost 24 hours (!!!)  I missed my blogging friends and blogs!!  I did stay in action though.  Even worked by lantern light on a couple of things like finishing my inchies for Jana's Inchie Swap  http://icantwanna.blogspot.com/2010/06/inchie-swap-its-on.html

Below are some cards that I can show that I made last week.  I made some other commissioned, personalized cards for friends.
So, have I mentioned before that I am cheap?
The pink and teal cards were made with a package of die cuts I got on clearance.  (They were on my WOYWW post last week.)  The flowers were dollar bin finds so, all in all pretty inexpensive cards.  The cake card is made with DCWV Linen stack papers and some self-adhesive felt die cuts.  Simple and easy- peasy.

**A great big THANKS to Gingersnap Creations for choosing my card in the Quotes challenge!!!
If you have never been to this site, you should really check it out!  I love the challenges and getting to see the wonderful work of the many, many talented artists there!  Click on the badge on my sidebar.

Gingersnap Creations challange: Transparancies

An anniversary card for some good friends.  The image is from my postcard collection, the transparency overlay is by 7 Gypsies ATC collection.  Flowers, feather and butterfly wing...from my "stuff".

The Chesshire Cat and the King of Hearts

The second in my series.  The main image is from a sheet from Alpha Stamps that was a freebie with an order last year.  The text that fits the scene, is from my childhood book.  Then I made the pin, including a green bead or two to represent jealousy (cause you know she was of her sister)  The Chesshire cat is my personal favorite.  We would all be that frank, in a catty way when, shall we say, the situation call for ithttp://adifferentchallengeaweek.blogspot.com/.

Gingersnap Creations : Mad Hatter Blog Hop

http://gingersnapcreations.blogspot.com/2010/06/mad-hatter-day-blog-hop.html
Love the MH Guy!  The image of him and the text are from a book that I had as a child in 1968.  The "shrooms" (which I believe to be the cause of Alice's delusions) are from an old book about mushrooms that I found at a flea market.  I knew it would come in handy some day!
All this Wonderland art (and seeing the movie) has motivated me to keep going on the theme.  Working on one with Alice and the Queen of Hearts.  And, who knows what else...
Thanks for looking!!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

A trip to my local Michael's yielded all this great ribbon out of the dollar bin.  Did I need one in every color?  Sure!  Did I need more ribbon?  Can one have too much?
So, from the following pics of my ribbon stash, you be the judge.  Go ahead, I can take it!
Exhibit A, Drawer 1: white, cream, yellow, pink, purple, blue, red and orange
Exhibit B, Drawer 2: green, brown, black
Exhibit C, Drawer 3: scraps and loose pieces
Exhibit D, boxes of ribbon pulled to coordinate with paper and embellishment in current projects
Exhibit E, storage boxes by topics such as wedding/anniversary in blue, green, pink and silver/gold, baby boy, baby girl,  Valentine's Day, Christmas.   Each with coordinating ribbons in their box.
There also is a closet (not shown) that has Halloween stuff.  I'll show that when the time comes.  (Its my fav!)
Well, that was cathartic.
I sure enjoyed last Wednesday's anniversary party!  Lots of cool, inspiring stuff!  Thanks to all that left comments here.  I really appreciate it!!!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!
