WOYWW 3rd Anniversary!!

Drum roll...........
Happy Anniversary Julia
and WOYWW Bloggers !!

Join the celebrations here!  http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

I cannot hardly wait to see all the wonderful work and workdesks out there this week!!  Is it time, is it time??
I'm squirming in my chair!!!!!

Until then here is my boring old desk.  And, it is tidy, by golly!!!
YES!  That surely is a glass of wine you see there!  We're celebrating remember!!!  (at least I am!)
The shell.  Well, I was visiting one of my fav blogs http://mysalvagedtreasures.blogspot.com/ where Betsy posted some altered abalone shells.  They are gorgeous!  I didn't have an abalone shell so I grabbed a plain ol' shell, painted it with my Mica watercolors, dried it, stuck some pearls on and five minutes later...  Still playing with it and all will have to be glued on permanently.

I will try not to be so darn late getting around this week!  I appreciate all of you so much!!

Red Anne - finished piece

Hallo!!
Here is Red Anne.  Due to the frame it is slightly larger than an ATC.  Finished out at approx. 5.5" x 4".
And... I accidentally dropped a big glob of glue on her chin!  Not one of my 8 types of erasers would remove it so I ended up ripping out the image and replacing it.  This picture was taken before the "surgery".  You can see the glue spot.  It all worked out fine in the end and she's good as new.  *whew*!
I used gold Smooch paint on the frame, birdcage, metal heart and large velvet flowers.
Hope you like it!  Thanks for looking!!!
Hugs!

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday!

Hello there!!!  Wednesday has become my very favorite day of the week!  Why, you may ask... because it's WOYWW!!!!  Join the fun over at Julia's house here: http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

Now for the reveal (oh boy!)
Lots going on but clean up isn't part of it!

Working on another ATC, "Lady in Red"  I'm thinking of calling her Red Anne (you know I'm talking about you ;)  )  Anyway, fun to gather all the elements.  The background is a piece cut from a sheet I painted with mica watercolors (USArt Quest).  Playing with different hat pins too.

This is the paper I painted.  8.5" x 11"  It's the same sheet just different light in each view.  I also use it to punch out shapes and borders.

To prep for a swap sponsored by Alpha Stamps, I had to move to the dining table.  Gee, I wonder why?  Also, DH is away so... the Kat will play (in any room she pleases).

I found the glass "baubles" on deep discount at Michael's.  Not sure how or if I'll even use them but I couldn't resist the colors.  I'll use them for inspiration if nothing else.  I've got more treasures on order from Alpha Stamps.  Click on their button on my sidebar to find out more.

One last bit...  I found this site through another blog friend Betsy http://mysalvagedtreasures.blogspot.com/
** you'll LOVE her blog!!!
I am having too much fun with this app!!!!  And, it's FREE!!!  Check it out here:  http://www.picmonkey.com/

and here are just three pics I "altered"

Now if someone could please walk me through changing my blog background (I've wasted 5 hours on it so far with nothing to show!) I would be forever grateful!!!  Like give-you-my-right-shoe-or-my-first-born kind of grateful!  Though he may have something to say about that and you probably wouldn't want a 35 year old former Marine living with you...  but, I would gladly give you both my shoes or anything else, just name it!!!  I'm serious.

Have a great week!  I'll be by to see you too!
Hugs!

WOYWW

Busy, busy week!
I must apologize to my blog friends that so kindly visited last week that I did not return in kind.  I REALLY appreciate all your visits and comments!!!!!  More than you'll ever know!!!!  I promise to be a better blog friend this week!  Things have calmed somewhat here.  Whew!!

My desk as of tonight

Part fallout from last project and playing/planning with new trims.  Love the little vials of beads from ART-C.  The store where I found them here is Beverly's.  It is like a super, tiny Hobby Lobby.  They were full price though Michael's had them on clearance months ago.  Shoulda, coulda, woulda...
Anyway, part of what you see is the fallout from my WOYWW ATC...teehee!  Completed today.  Wouldn't you like to peek???  Sorry, must wait for the day!

Here is an ATC I made for my sweet neighbor, Dottie for Mother's Day.  She loves blue, really loves blue!  As in her car, her house and clothes match and the things in her yard.  (another post) Click on the picture to enlarge to see the detail.
Recently Laura Carson featured my ocean/nautical ATC on her blog Artfully Musing.  So wonderful of her and you absolutely MUST check out her site!!!

I cannot wait to post my ATC for Julia's 3rd Anniversary Swap!  Check out the fun here
http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

Thank you ever so much for your visit and comment!!  I cross my heart I will visit you too!!!!!!!!!

WOYWW

And, WOW!  It's only 12:40 am here and I'm already way past the 80th person to post!  I didn't used to think it mattered until last week when I was early on the list and I had a lot more comments!  Guess folks poop out after a while (LIKE ME!)  Just goes to show you that it is a HUGE world out there!
If you wanna join in this fun/hugeness click here: http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com/

So, yes.  My desk is tidy for once!

Working on another ATC in a ocean theme for m-i-l's Mother's Day gift.
Still working on the layout... yes, it will most likely be late getting to her.

Here are a couple other ATC's that went out for MD.

For my dear friend Linda H.  Who sews and crochets (she made the crocheted flower in the lower left)

(and I get "nervous" when I have to sew a button on!)

And, this one for my sweet, wonderful neighbor back in Indianapolis.  She is a Scottie dog...everything and her kitchen is blue.  So I made a magnet ATC for her.

So I hope you all have a wonderful week and Mother's Day weekend!
Thanks for stopping by and I'll be visiting you over the next few days (as is my style HA!).
Hugs!

WOYWW

Alrighty then.  Everyone complained about the new blogger template but, I had no problem navigating it but... this is different from a day ago.  WTF? (pardon my explicative) I'm sure a lot of you are saying the same thing under your breath (so to speak).  Is this supposed to be simpler, better?  If so, why don't they give us an option to upgrade or at the very least a warning of a change to come.  Darn it all. We all love blogger for a lot of reasons just wish they would improve their customer service.  If there were another free blog site we would jump Blogger Ship and swim to them.   Blogger decides what is best but... they must not know their demographics.  I venture to say that a large percentage of us are in the 40+ age group, have sufficient to above average computer skills and are mostly hands-on creative types.  Basically it has to make sense to us.  So, Dear Blogger, Love you but, give us a heads up for changes coming.  Okay?
Okay.  Enough soap box.

Here is my desk.  What happened to the tidiness?  Yeah, well that was two weeks ago.  Life happens.
Fallout from recent projects.  A Marie Antoinette ACT (see close ups below)

Vintage blue bead trim I used on the card.

I bought the blue bead trim at the same time that I bought these.  The brown trim has rotted thread and is very fragile, so I can only use the beads (those are the ones I used to trim the Gingersnap ATC from an earlier post).

So, here is my first Marie Antoinette ATC.  I got her image from Magic Moonlight (see button on my sidebar) and the jewelry images are from Kristin at Retro Cafe Art (see her button on my sidebar).

I dyed the paper and satin flowers with glimmer mists then "gilded" them in gold with Smooch paint.  I dyed the stick pins with slate alcohol ink and touched them with the gold Smooch.

The background began with mica watercolors (USArtQuest) then stamped and heat embossed in gold.
Trimmed in the vintage blue beaded trim, paper leaves punched from MS border punch and some "found" pearl bead sprays.  It all began with her dress.

For those of you that visited me the last time (two weeks ago!!!)  This is what became of the girl in pink...
I call her "The Flower Girl"  Her image is from Kristin at  Retro Cafe Art.

Again I added magnet strips to the back.  Doesn't she just have the sweetest face?!?!

Toddle over to Julia's site and find a lot more inspiration from fabulous women and their work desks here:

Happy Wednesday, Y'all!!!!
Hugs!
